It is with sincere and deep regret that we have to announce the closure of the James Braid Society.

For more than 30 years, the society has been a social club, a discussion/lecture forum and centre specifically intended to promote friendship and cooperation between hypnotherapists. For most of its life, it worked well.
 
Sadly however there is no longer the support required to keep the society functioning. Possibly the James Braid Society was a product of its time – but times have changed. Maybe the society itself failed to change sufficiently.
 
Therefore, now is the time to say a final big “Thank You” to all of you who have delivered talks and lectures, to everyone who has attended our meetings over the years, and to those who helped organise our events. It was fun, and many of us made many good friends.
 
The society’s website will remain online for a few more months but will close later in 2025. No decision has yet been made about what should happen to the society’s Facebook group, Dr Braid’s Waiting Room. If you have any thoughts, please post them on the group page.
